OAXACA DE JUAREZ: CALLE ALCALA - IMAGINE - WALKING THIS STREET ON YOUR WAY TO SPANISH CLASS
Afer two weeks of Spanish classes in Merida, Yucatan I am now in Oxaca de Juarez, the capital city of the Mexican State of Oxaca for two more weeks before going to Antigua Guatemala.
My classes at International House were great and the daily walk from Hotel Nacional up Calle Alcala or the Andador Turistio was amazing. I pinched myself every day on the way to to International House.

OAXACA DE JUAREZ: FABULOUS STREET FOOD - TLAYUDAS - PIG HEADS - YUMMY

How could one be in a Mexican city that had the reputation of having some of the best street food in the Americas and not try it? That was my final verdict. I was in Oaxaca de Juarez for two weeks taking Spanish classes at International House. Being a creature of habit, I was always drawn towards the magnet of evening activity in Oaxaca - the Zolcalo (see Vlog no. 18), That is also where I woul...

I am here in Oaxaca (February 2024) to take Spanish classes. If you are going to Mexico to study Spanish follow my path and start with the "safest" city in Mexico and then move on to the "prettiest" city in Mexico and the go to a place that is even better and that is Antigua, Guatemala. All this is of course my opinion. A great way to get the feel of Oaxaca City is to take a one- hour bus tour....

First of all, you keep repeating "Chelem" over and over, but you are totally mispronouncing the name. Secondly, you went to 1 entrada right in the center of town and declared it to be one of the ugliest beaches you've ever seen. Lastly you comment on how someone else chooses to dress (which to me looked totally great for a warm night in the city) Yay, so thrilled you will not be my neighbor in beautiful Chelem, Mexico!!

Hello Earthlycolorbrown...thanks for you question. I was actually in Merida for two weeks in February 2024. The purpose of my visit was to take spanish courses. I did that at La Calle Spanish School..vlog 8 and La Casita ..vlog 14. I also came to Merida because of its reputation as being relatively safe as is much of the Yucatan. The city was beautiful and there was much to explore which I did in my other vlogs. In February the temperatures were mostly around 32C (about 90 F). it was hot but not too hot. I never noticed humidity but that might be me. My two hotels (see vlogs) in Merida both had air conditioning which was nice. I later moved on to Oaxaca for two weeks and two more weeks of Spanish study in Antigua Guatemala. My hotels there did not have air conditioning which made it bit more difficult. All in all a fantastic trip which I am now reliving on my UA-cam Channel. Best regards Lobo

You should of went to Playa Bonita Beach Club right in Chelem....water was super turquoise when I was there in November. Plus when clouds are our any beach can look bad. I think people love it because you can live walking distance to the water, 10 min to all the beach bars & restaurants in Progreso, 15 to 60 min from 4 or 5 other cute beach towns to visit and 35 min to the beautiful city of Merida with more restaurants, bars & shopping! Plus you can own a beautiful new built home for a fraction of living in US and when you come home to it you are in your little quite town...I don't want to live in the action just near it 🌺💃 my home will be ready in December and can't wait to get there!

What I wouldn't do for a real construction photo, (with actual work being performed) or perhaps an original blueprint. Armed with information like, the electric drill did not exist before the 1940's, and the first ones that did, were a two-man operation. How can you explain how this thing was made of stone and marble from all over the world. Nor how this turn of the century 440 FOOT structure hasn't shifted an inch since it was built. Check it out for yourself... the giant lobby floor, made of stone and brass inlay, (not grout or mortar, but METAL) it's still PERFECT! Call around to our local large scale construction contractors, see about procuring a nice thick stone floor bound with brass.... metal instead of grout/mortar.
